Bio
Katharine Beutner is a fiction writer and a graduate student in the English program at the University of Texas at Austin, where she also earned a master's degree in creative writing. Her first novel, Alcestis, is a work of historical fantasy that retells the Greek myth of a queen who sacrifices her life for her husband. Alcestis was published in 2010 by Soho Press and will appear in paperback in February 2011. She is currently writing a new novel set in 1890s New England (and a dissertation, but we won't talk about that).
