Bio

Brent Weeks was born and raised in Montana.  After getting his paper keys from Hillsdale College, Brent had brief stints walking the earth like Caine from Kung Fu, tending bar, and corrupting the youth. (Not at the same time.) He started writing on bar napkins, then on lesson plans, then full time. Eventually, someone paid him for it. Brent lives in Oregon with his wife, Kristi. He doesn’t own cats or wear a ponytail.

Brent is the New York Times Bestselling author of The Night Angel Trilogy, published in 2008 by Orbit. Published in mass market paperback in consecutive months, The Way of Shadows, Shadow's Edge, and Beyond the Shadows took much longer to actually write. Brent was a finalist in the inagural David Gemmell Legend Award of 2009. Foreign rights to the trilogy have been sold in 10 languages.

He is hard at work on his next book, The Black Prism, which is set in a totally different world than The Night Angel Trilogy. But for fans of Kylar and company, he will return to Midcyru after The Black Prism and its sequels.
